Open Science

Open science is critical not only for sharing, but also to promote the robustness and reproducibility of research. All my research work (publications, raw data, and code) is available in open access repositories, and has been disseminated through scientific conferences, press releases, and social networks.

Tools and databases for the community

Beyond sharing my own outputs, I have created open access tools that are used by researchers from all over the world:

Raincloud-shiny

Raincloud-shiny is a Shiny-powered web GUI interface to create raincloud plots, a visualization that shows the raw data, its distribution, and summary statistics together rather than hiding them behind a bar chart. By making transparent plotting available through a browser, with no coding required, it lowers the barrier to honest data presentation. The source is open on GitHub.

XePhIR

Together with A. Groenewoud, I built XePhIR, the (zebrafish) xenograft phenotype interactive repository, to standardize protocols and share data regarding zebrafish xenograft phenotypes, thus enhancing reproducibility and showcasing the appeal and applicability of the model. The platform is described in Groenewoud, Forn-Cuní et al., Database (Oxford), 2022.

Open Access

Raw data and materials from my publications are deposited in public repositories:

Sequencing and transcriptomic data. Sequencing and transcriptomic data generated in my studies are openly accessible at SRA and GEO.

Code. Some of my code can be found on GitHub.

Imaging data. Confocal microscopy datasets accompanying my work can be found at the BioImage Archive (e.g., Acc: S-BSST698).
